Voting Engagement Canvasser

POSITION SUMMARY

The Voting Engagement Canvasser is responsible for traveling to targeted communities with the goal of encouraging individuals to register to vote, participate in the 2020 elections and identify the issues that the voters cares about. This role requires acute attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, proficiency in task prioritization, heightened sense of professionalism, and flexibility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required (other duties may be assigned):

  •  Drive to various locations to meet large amounts of potential voters at their homes, events and at public establishments
  •  Consistently attain daily, weekly and month voter’s registration quotas
  •  Meet assigned goals for new canvassing contacts
  •  Strongly persuade community members on involvement in voting process
  •  Attend mandatory canvassing meetings
  •  Follow all procedures regarding engagement with potential voters
  •  Document voter responses and submit data timely and accurately
  •  Participate and stay abreast of ongoing voting campaigns and training
  •  Adhere to company policies to include code of ethics, attendance and timeliness

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  •  Regularly required to talk and hear
  •  Requires frequent standing, walking sometimes in harsh conditions
  •  Use of hands and fingers
  •  Ability to occasionally lift office supplies up to 20 pounds

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 18 years of age & US citizen with valid identification
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading and writing English
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Basic understanding of grassroots campaigning and/or voter’s registration
  • Schedule flexibility during business hours, evenings and weekends
  • Work availability of at least 10 hours a week
  • Professional appearance
  •  Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills
  •  Must have functioning iOS or Android cell phone
